One of the most interesting parts of designing a collection is creating and selecting colorstories. Here is the work of one of our design interns, Rae, first year industrial design student at UC Berkeley. Today, I am helping her finish her concept and taking it to the next level. Learning how to teach and building a person makes me a better student. Urban Samurai has been submitted to the Gen Art’s “Plastics Make it Possible” competition. Please VOTE for it! “Urban Samurai” by Nika Tang is a modern collection incorporating the colors and balance of the Japanese samurai and elements that gives a masculine interpretation of feminine pieces. The urban samurai is strong, sophisticated and elegant. Here are two concept pieces that will spring off a more wearable and versatile womenswear collection for Fall 2010, taking on the clean mix of Japanese inspired wool prints, soft, delicate mohair fabric and contours and lines of a modern warrior look.
